Webpuppies is now an AWS Select Tier Services Partner. In plain terms, that means Amazon Web Services has checked our AWS certifications and our delivery record and formally recognised us to deliver on AWS. For a client weighing who should run a cloud migration or an AI deployment, that is a shortcut through the trust question: AWS has already done the diligence, and it stands behind the answer.
This is not a vanity badge. Select is the first AWS services tier that unlocks real capability: co-sell with AWS account teams, access to AWS funding, and a validated opportunity pipeline. Below is what the status is, why the tier matters when you are choosing a consultancy, and what it changes in practice.
What does AWS Select Tier Services Partner status actually mean?
AWS Select Tier Services Partner is the first meaningful tier in the AWS Partner Network for consulting and managed services firms. It certifies two things: that the partner has trained, AWS-certified people on staff, and that the partner has launched and validated real customer engagements through AWS. AWS ranks services partners in three tiers, Select, Advanced, then Premier, and Select is the entry point to co-sell and funding programmes.
Getting there is not automatic. A partner has to hold a required number of AWS certifications under named individuals, and it has to show customer opportunities launched and recorded in AWS Partner Central. In other words, the tier is evidence of both skills and delivery, not just intent.
Why does an AWS partner tier matter when choosing a cloud consultancy?
Because it replaces a claim with a check. Any firm can say it “does AWS.” A tier is AWS confirming it. When you hire a Select Tier partner, you are hiring a team whose certifications and customer results AWS has verified, which is a far stronger signal than a logo on a slide.
The tier also determines what the partner can do for you commercially. Select Tier partners gain access to the AWS Partner Central platform, marketing development funds for joint go-to-market, and the APN Customer Engagements programme, which lines up AWS account teams behind the partner’s projects. Registered partners below the tier get none of that. So the tier is not only a quality marker, it is the difference between a consultancy that works next to AWS and one that works with it.
What can Webpuppies clients do now that they could not before?
Three things change in practice.
- Co-sell with AWS. We can register your project through ACE and bring an AWS account team into the room, aligned on the same outcome. That tends to speed up provisioning and decision-making.
- Access AWS funding. Select Tier opens the door to AWS funding programmes and marketing development funds that can offset the cost of a pilot, a migration, or a proof of concept.
- Buy from a verified team. Your procurement and risk teams get an AWS-verified partner status to point to, which shortens vendor due diligence.
None of this changes our rates or how we scope work. It adds AWS support and funding around the work we were already doing.
How does this fit with Webpuppies’ existing certifications?
It completes a three-way stack. Webpuppies is a Google Cloud Partner and a member of the Claude Partner Network, Anthropic’s programme for firms deploying its models in production. Adding AWS Select Tier means we hold recognised status across the two major clouds our enterprise clients run on, plus the AI layer many of them are now building.
The practical value is independence. Because we carry status with all three, we can recommend the right mix for your problem rather than the one we happen to be certified in. Most enterprise outcomes are a blend, and the honest answer is usually not a single vendor.
What happens next?
We are taking on AWS projects under the new status now, and we will work toward Advanced Tier as our certified headcount and validated launches grow. For clients, the near-term takeaway is simple: if you have an AWS migration, an AI workload to stand up on AWS, or a cloud security review on the horizon, this is a good moment to talk. Webpuppies can now bring AWS funding and account support to the table alongside the delivery.
Webpuppies helps Singapore and APAC leaders scope, migrate, and secure workloads on AWS, with the return kept visible from day one. If that is on your roadmap, talk to us.
Frequently asked questions
What is an AWS Select Tier Services Partner?
It is a consulting or managed services firm that AWS has recognised at the Select tier of its partner network. The status confirms the firm holds AWS certifications under named staff and has launched validated customer engagements through AWS. Select is the first of three services tiers, ahead of Advanced and Premier.
Is AWS Select Tier the same as being AWS certified?
No. Individual AWS certifications are held by people. A partner tier is held by the company and requires both a set of those certifications and a validated record of customer delivery. Tier status is AWS vouching for the organisation, not just its staff.
Does this change Webpuppies’ pricing or how projects are scoped?
No. Rates and scoping are unchanged. The status adds AWS co-sell support and access to AWS funding programmes around the work, which can reduce a client’s cost on pilots and migrations.
What does this mean for existing Webpuppies clients?
Existing clients on AWS can now have their projects registered for AWS co-sell and funding support, and can point procurement to an AWS-verified partner status. Clients on other platforms are unaffected, since Webpuppies also holds Google Cloud and Claude Partner Network status.
